Reverie" by Domas Aleksa: new album produced by Mario Basanov Lithuanian artist and bass player Domas Aleksa finally announced that his new album titled "Reverie" to be released on Runemark Records. His album was produced in cooperation with talented Mario Basanov, whose return is soon to supplement the world's music scene with some unique tunes once again. Domas Aleksa renowned for his exceptional style as well ability to skillfully cover a wide range of musical genres. His years of bass player experience reflect in 37 recorded albums for different bands and musicians as well as his two solo albums including "Time Twister" released two years ago. Mario Basanov well known for the hits such as "We are Child Of Love", "Caribbean Girl" or "Bill" returns after keeping the dance scene silent from his tunes for more than 4 years. It's been some time since he produced an album from front to back, so "Reverie" is certainly a new stage for both artists. Both artists previously dropped hints at the album's release, presenting new single "For Your Love ft. Nnaji". Downtempo, soulful track was created collaborating with singer from Berlin Nnaji and already presented on Ibiza Sonica Radio. 10 track album was recorded collaborating with the artists of various genres, each of the bringing their individual style. Previously mentioned Nnaji, as well as singer Monika Liu, multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo G Pahlen joining the album with his Harmonica and even Mario himself playing keyboard guitar - all of them had their role in "Reverie". Down tempo, spiced with Balearic exotic sounds, guided by dynamic bass line "Reverie" creates an illusion that what you hear is something familiar, yet never experienced before. Mario as well as Domas are well known for their unique styles and approach to music, so the album has an absolute new feeling, that in a way brings us back to 80's and 90's, yet still keeping the sound of 2017. The name "Reverie" refers to daydreaming, a pleasant fantasy, that invites you to time travel as long as the tune is on. As well as the music - album stands out in terms of design. Graphic designer Mindaugas Bonanu, well known for his famous 'Putin Kissing Trump' painting, again emerged his talent giving the feeling that the CD you're looking at was somehow created back in the 80's. All the details, including portraits are hand drawn on paper, using just pen and pencil - the way it was common back those days. Saturated colours divide the album reflecting the diversity of tracks. Live-recorded bass versus deep and minimalistic Mario input. James Bond and Jean Paul Belmondo inspired visual plot makes "Reverie" a time machine that will keep you tight through the whole musical journey.

mong numerous projects in Lithuania and abroad, the 'Reverie' album appears to be the first one that Mario Basanov produced solely for Domas Aleksa. 'Reverie' is available in physical CD format as well as digital.

After leaving some profound footprints with his cutting-edge debut on Cocoon Recordings and his second album on SOSO, 2017 has a further gem and premiere ready in the guise of Rico Puestel's first official mix CD.
Like experiencing all seasons of a year or most diverse moods from the span of a lifetime at a single blow of one hour within an intensely natural habitat, Rico Puestel showcases his peculiar and vigorously personality-driven amalgam of these things called House, Techno, Electronica, Ambient and beyond.
Starting off with a state of mystery, the journey lightens up and drifts into a sun-drenched coitus of groove, slightly falling back into a vast scenery that feels larger than life, closing circles -- somehow refined since its launch.
"Intermixtures Vol. 1" is filled with mostly never-heard-before material and selected nuggets that fortunately could be signed exclusively to Ponsactrilau and this singular mix. Representing some of the highlights, Rico Puestel delivers a remake of his 2009 Robsoul tune "Born 1920" from the likes of &Me, DJ T. or Deetron at the time, hanisii crafted some special edits for this mix and Foége, D_n or Warren, I lead the way with some protruding atmospheres.

This is the story behind the third single and opening track from DJ Hell’s critically-acclaimed fifth album Zukunfstmusik, ‘Anything, Anytime’ pays homage to the handkerchief code, a unique flagging practice most popular during the most critical creative explosion of club music.

Barbed, delicate, bittersweet and introspective, the 14-minute track’s softness and gradual sense of piano-laced theatre carries certain shades of a love song. In many ways, it is…. There’s love in a brute sense. Physical openness in its most honest and forthright form. But there’s also a sense of romance for the most sensational outburst of hedonism and pleasure that dancefloor music ever experienced - the 70s gay movement wherein major metropolises throbbed awoke and boundaries and barriers were challenged and shattered every night.

These lightning strikes of illicit freedom, carnal energy and momentary abandonment are the deepest seeds of all forms of electronic music; sentiments that echo throughout Hell’s unhurried, unrestrained salvo. Percussive connotations of leather, the cavernous reverb conjuring open industrial spaces such as you might find in New York City’s meatpacking district at the time. The palpitating heartbeat, occasional flashes of sense-blurring giddy physical fizz… Up above, down below, choose your colour; while many love songs are babymakers, ‘Anything, Anytime’ is much more of a bed breaker.

While the original wears orange with pride, the remixes wear their own colours. The first of two remix packages, both Solomun and Argy come at Hell’s original from contrasting sides. Solomun’s is a light blue. The molten bass and slinky electro breakbeats creating a sensual, slippery experience that could lead to absolutely anything, it writhes and continually pleasures with every twist and turn. Argy’s, meanwhile, is bold jet black. Dominant, intense and unrelenting. It’s ‘straight outta hell’ by- line fulfilled with every sweaty arpeggiated peak and vivid flashing strobes, this is visceral, sweaty techno and there’s no release without the safeword.

Two more remixes will follow imminently while the original comes complete with its own stark visual representation. In keeping with Hell’s use of Tom Of Finland’s cult visuals on the artwork of the album’s first single ‘I Want U’, ‘Anything, Anytime’ continues to reference seminal cultural documents of the era. This time with its video; a stylised and provocative, black and white piece that riffs on the ground-breaking 1980 Al Pacino movie Cruising. An exploration of the iconography and stark fashion that visually represented progression, a celebration of overt sexuality but also a sense of restraint and composure… The calm before any storm your handkerchief may cause. Mit Casin wird Österreich einmal mehr auf der musikalischen Landkarte markiert und macht deutlich wie vielseitig die Alpenrepublik in Sachen Hip Hop sein kann. Bereits die Vorab-Single "Volle Kraft Voraus" mit Österreichs Ausnahmetalent "Dame" (sein Kanal ist mit 540.000 Abonnenten einer der erfolgreichsten in Österreich) macht deutlich wohin die Reise geht: kraftvoll, melancholischer Straßenrap, der ganz ohne prollige Attitüde auskommt und seine Authentizität aus den ehrlichen - weil nachvollziehbaren - Texten zieht. Zwischendurch rappt Casin lässig über seinen musikalischen Werdegang, macht tägliche Beobachtungen zu kleinen lyrischen Ereignissen und erzählt mit Augenzwinkern von falschem Fame und all die Möchtegerns, die öffentlich Wasser predigen und doch heimlich Wein trinken. Die Beats - die im Studio teils mit echten Instrumenten aufgenommen wurden - reichen von verspielt bis düster, von hart bis melancholisch und geben Casins authentischen Texten genau den richtigen Raum, sich zu entfalten. Neben eingangs erwähnten "Dame" geben sich auf dem Album einige Feature-Hochkaräter ein Stelldichein, wobei sicherlich Deutschrap-Legende "Manuellsen" heraussticht, der seinen Status als Groove-Monster einmal mehr untermauert. Casin kennt das Leben und beleuchtet auf "Volle Kraft Voraus" die unterschiedlichen Eindrücke und Perspektiven, die sich auftun, wenn jemand mit offenen Augen durch die Welt geht. Der Albumtitel gibt dabei die Richtung an: Stets vorwärts blicken, immer wieder aufstehen, Dreck abklopfen und Kragen richten - und dann am Ende steht da "Ups and Downs", die in Form gegossene Essenz des Albums - eine Hook für die Ewigkeit, die ehrlichen Worte eines suchenden Jungens, der schließlich Erwachsen geworden ist. Am Ende wird immer resümiert, doch selten so gekonnt wie hier! Erstaunlich was Casin hier mit seinem Debütalbum abliefert. "Volle Kraft Voraus" - ein mutiges Statement in Zeiten wie diesen!

Barry Window And The Movements Barry Window wurde am 25. November 1946 als Urs Fenster in Basel geboren. Sein Gefühl für Musik hatte er von seinem Schlagzeug spielenden in Düsseldorf geborenen Vater Kurt Fenster geerbt. Dessen Vater aus Brasilien stammend mit dem Amerikanischen Riesen Circus Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey 1908 in Düsseldorf gastierte. Kurt Fenster der in der Schweiz mit einer Band spielte, blieb schlussendlich in Basel wo er seine Familie gründete. Natürlich musste sich auch Junior Urs (später Barry) ans Schlagzeug setzen. So wurde Urs 1964 Drummer bei Sam Wee Five. Sein Aha Erlebnis hatte er bei der Sam Wee Five, als er sah, wie Sam mit dem Mikrofon in der Hand ins Publikum ging und die Zuschauer abholte. «Da machte es bei mir <klick> und mir war klar, was ich eigentlich wirklich wollte. Ich wollte Profi werden und als Sänger vorne stehen. Das ging natürlich nicht, solange ich hinter dem Schlagzeug sass.» Weil in einer Coverband jeder singen musste, musste auch Barry Singen. Er tat dies mit grossem Erfolg. So beschloss er, seine eigene Profiband zu gründen, selbstverständlich mit ihm als Frontmann. Er verliess Sam Wee Five und kaufte sich Mikrofon und eine Gesangsanlage. Dann stellte er seine erste Band zusammen. Mit Dietmar Carl (Schlagzeug, vormals The Kettels), Peter Rietmann (Bass, vormals The Countdowns), Organist Pianist Fritz Trippel, Ronald Bryer (Sologitarre, vormals The Big Wheel), Ferdi Keller (Saxofon). Fenster brachte auch als Sänger den Drive, den er als Drummer von seinem Vater geerbt hatte. In dieser Formation konnte die Band ihre erste LP aufnehmen, der später noch weitere Tonträger folgen sollten. Window erinnert sich: «Unser Organist hatte Beziehungen zu der Plattenfirma Intercord Stuttgart wo auch der Sänger Reinhard May zuhause war, und so bekamen wir einen Plattenvertrag. Die Songs der ersten LP „Soul And Love“ haben wir innerhalb zweier Tage im Bauer Studios Ludwigsburg in Stuttgart aufgenommen.»
Am 25. November 1967 war Barry und die Band Gast in der Fernsehsendung „Hits a Gogo“ Deutschland und Schweiz. Es folgten viele Clubs und Konzertlokale in Deutschland und Italien.
Im Frühling 1968 verliess Fritz Trippel die Band. Wie zuvor Rietmann wechselte auch er zu Les Sauterelles. An seine Stelle trat der belgische Tastenvirtuose Joel Vandroogenbroeck. Er schrieb die Arrangements und wurde zum musikalischen Kopf der Band. Das Multitalent spielte nicht nur Orgel und Flöte, sondern spielte auch Indische Sitar. Es endstanden aus dieser Formationen noch weiter 2 LP’s „Soul In Action“ und „Soul Hour“ „Dee Dee, Barry And The Movements“.
mit der Gastsängerin Dee Dee McNeil und dem Saxophonisten Barney Wilen der auch mit Miles Davis spielte. Vandroogenbroecks Jazzvergangenheit, seine Neugier und Experimentierfreudigkeit, gepaart mit musikalischer Brillanz, zeigten Möglichkeiten der musikalischen Weiterentwicklung auf. Das hört man auf der besten Platte der Band. Die Single I’ll Wait For You / Hear Me, Help Me wurde zwar kommerziell ein Flop, aber musikalisch gehört sie zu den am meisten unterschätzten Schweizer Platten der Zeit. Die Band hat sich darauf vom orthodoxen Soul gelöst. Mit Sitarklängen durchzogen, hören wir zwei progressive Pop-songs, etwas vom Feinsten, was Schweizer in den 60er Jahren auf Vinyl verewigt haben. Zu einem Höhepunkt wurde eine 40minütige Fernsehshow, die der ARD im September 1968 in Baden-Baden aufnahm. Beim <Portrait einer Soulband> spielte die Band live. Trotz der sterilen Studioatmosphäre gelang es, einen kompakten, mit-reissenden Set hinzulegen, der noch heute deutlich macht, weshalb „Barry And The Movements“ zum besten gehörte, was Soul made in Switzerland zu bieten hatte.

An dieser Stelle sei erwähnt, dass Window zunächst mit dem Künstlervornamen Berry auftrat, bevor er sich im März 1968 entschloss, diesen in Barry abzuändern: «Ich hatte es satt, dass einige Leute Berry aussprachen, als würde es sich um <Beeri> (Beeren) handeln.» Kurz danach, nannte Fenster seine Band Barry Window And His Movements.
Window konnte immer wieder begabte Musiker gewinnen, die der Band jeweils für einige Zeit ihre Fähigkeiten zur Verfügung stellten. Besonders erwähnenswert ist der Saxofonist Barney Wilen, der durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Miles Davis bei der Musik für den Film <Fahrstuhl zum Schafott> international bekannt wurde. Zur Musik gehört auch die Präsentation, und da hatte der gutaussehende Sänger einiges zu bieten. Er bewegte sich auf der Bühne mit der Geschmeidigkeit einer Katze und hatte gemäss Aussagen mehrerer Damen einen ungemein knackigen Hintern. Er wurde um-schwärmt und umgurrt. Seiner ansteckenden Fröhlichkeit und seinem Charme konnten — wie man so hört — viele nicht widerstehen.
Barry Window ist übrigens auch heute noch Aktiv
