Hendrik Alexander Duryn (* October 8, 1967 in Leipzig) is a German actor, voice actor, singer and stuntman. Duryn is the son of a teacher couple and was a member of various children's and youth theater groups in Leipzig from the age of 11.
At 15, he played his first leading role in the youth drama "Frühlingserwachen". At the age of 18 he appeared in front of the camera for the first time for the cinema drama "Vernehmung der Zeugen" and played the leading role in the Defa film "Vorspiel". After completing his military service with the NVA from 1987 to 1988, he studied at the Hans Otto Theater Academy in Leipzig and completed postgraduate studies in musical theater and stuntman training.
Since 1993 he has made guest appearances at the Leipzig Schauspielhaus, the Leipzig Opera, the Cottbus State Theater and in Switzerland (Chur), among others. From 1994 he was a permanent ensemble member at the Neues Theater Halle. In addition, he played roles in crime series such as "Alarm for Cobra 11", "Tatort", "Die Männer vom K3" or "Der Fahnder", but also in the series "Verbotene Liebe", in various Rosamunde Pilcher, Katie Fforde and Inga Lindström films. From 2009-2020 he starred in the RTL series "Der Lehrer", for which he was also part of the writing and producing team. The series won the German Television Award in 2009 and the Comedy Award in 2015. Duryn lives in Leipzig.
He is involved (as of 2018) as an ambassador for the Bärenherz children's hospice in Markkleeberg and the Glücksmomente e.V. association. His half-brother is member of parliament Svend-Gunnar Kirmes. Since the beginning of March 2019, Hendrik Duryn has been supporting a campaign by the Saxon Ministry of Education to recruit teachers in Saxony.
